Phil is an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist working from private rooms in the countryside just outside Bristol.

He creates a safe, confidential space where you can discuss your feelings and concerns, and together find ways to live better and more authentically.

Does this describe you?

  • You are looking for more clarity in your life

  • Depression or anxiety stop you from achieving what you would like to

  • You are concerned about relationships at home or in work

WOULD YOU LIKE TO...

  • be listened to, taken seriously, and understood?

  • understand why you act and react the way you do?

  • work out how to live your life in a way that suits you?

THEN REACH OUT

If you think therapy may help, get in touch with me. We can discuss over the phone or by email whether therapy is right for you, and whether I could be the right person to help you. If I’m not the right person for you I can help point you in the right direction so that you can find the support you need.

People come to therapy for a range of reasons:

Some come because they feel unhappy with the direction their life is heading.

Some are struggling with anxiety, stress or depression, or because they feel they are reaching breaking point and are no longer able to cope.

Some are having difficulties in relationships, either at work or at home.

Some have big decisions to make, and want to ensure they're making them for the right reasons.

Some come to deal with the impact of addiction, phobias or other mental health issues.

Some have a physical health condition that is making their life difficult to live well.

Some come to talk about the present, some the future, and some the past.

You may recognise yourself in the descriptions above, or you may not.

Either way, therapy is a space where you can explore what's troubling you with someone who won't judge you or give you advice, but can help you to make sense of yourself and your world.

In our first session we will discuss what is troubling you, and what you hope to achieve and change in your life. We’ll also talk about what you think will work and what won’t, and agree a plan together.

For more information, call or email me.

If you’re here, you’ve probably looked through a bunch of therapists’ websites with pretty pictures and similar phrases, so what makes me different?

Tailored, individual support

As someone who’s worked in the public, charity, and private sectors, I am able to tailor the support I offer to each individual client. In our first session we will discuss your aims and hopes, and how we might meet these together.

Flexibility

I put you, the client, at the centre of every decision. For example, I don’t demand that sessions are held weekly, or that we work together for a certain amount of time. I will explain what I think will work best, but ultimately you are in charge.

Commitment

Sometimes clients worry that their counsellor will be shocked or unable to deal with what they bring. Working in inner-city London schools for a decade, and in a hospice for three years, has left me pretty hard to shock. I can commit to being with and working with whatever you bring, without judgement and without fear.
